Bakaisch Kurdish rug

1930 NW Persian Kurd Medallion with Bakshaish border, D0371; dim. 56"x72" This is an elegant rug in excellent condition with thick pile displaying brilliant natural dyes of persimmon and robbin's egg blue.   The rug features a large medallion with an open field of abrashed persimmon red, balanced with quarter-size medallions in each corner spandrel.  Symbolic dragons appear from each spandrel reaching toward the center medallion.
