D0216: This nomadic, tribal piece is called a Balitsch or a pillow bag and was used by a nomadic Baluch tribe. This bag is intact with both front and kilim back.
The’se nomadic pieces are always made with hand-spun wool and hand-dyed wool from natural elements or insect dyes of their region which tend to be of darker colors.
Please note the concentric, repeating medallions, radiating from the center, which the weaver has woven in as a protective symbol used by tribes to ward off the Evil Eye. The electric blue in this rug is stunning.
Perfect as a wall hanging, Pillow cover, couch throw floor or on the table or chair.
