Wool on wool (warp and weft) with wonderful jewel-like colors of celedon green, ocean blue, and camel.

Beautiful ca. 1910 Mahal Meshkabad rug made in northwestern Persia. This is a sought after design and vintage found in a great antique piece. It is in very good antique condition with consistent overall low pile, but NO worn spots, and fully intact selvages and ends. This sophisticated rug is quite a stunner.

Condition: Very Good Condition with Wool Pile on Cotton Foundation. No tears, worn areas or missing ends or sides.
Remarks: Made by one of the few nomadic tribes in Iran, the Bakhtiari,individual garden pictures of birds on branches, willow trees, flowers, floral sprays, grape clusters, and fountains are woven into different panels which are seen in the ideal Persian garden.

Material: Hand dyed, hand spun wool on a cotton warp base.
Condition: Very Good, secured sides and ends, pliable, good pile overall, professionally hand washed.
Remarks: Made in the village of Lillihan which is known for its wool and artistic weave with a design similar to the Sarouks, but with a single weft weave. Note the open design of the floral sprays typical of the first decade of the 20th century.
