Authentic, used tribal /nomadic piece. The weaver hand sewed a small rug to a hand woven kilim to make a bag she could use as a utility bag to store household items to be carried when they migrated from winter to summer dwellings. The front has the Guls of her Turkmen tribe.

D0264: Semi-antique Borchalu, Bozchelu, 45" x 65" Age: ca. 1930 Region of origin: Eastern Hamadan region, of Mongol tribal descent. Borchalu is the only Hamadan village that produces curvilinear rugs. Condition/Description:: Very good with crisp vegetable dyes, and gorgeous celedon blues and pistachio greens that are only found in old, antique rugs. The deep, almost black, indigo in this rug is a difficult color to achieve, and only the master dyers know how to get this almost black indigo to stay and NOT fade as a fugitive dye. Dim: 45" x 65" Condition: Very good condition with good pile overall and complete sides and borders and original kilim end. ♥

Region: Nain is a city in Southeastern Central region of Iran between Isphahan and Yezd. It is a collection point for rugs called Nain which are made over a large area. Rugs average from over 300 KPSI to 600 or even as high as 900 made by master weaver, Habibian.

Size: 26" by 47" (with fringe)
Condition: Very Good to excellent.Fringes are long and some areas are slightly tangled.There is no wear apparent throughout. The rug has been professionally cleaned.
