Beautiful 19th cen. (ca. 1890) Malayer runner with a Bakshaish border and a herati (fish and garden) design in the field. This beautiful antique rug is all wool with all natural, deep-saturated dyes. It is in very good condition and will look wonderful in a hall, a kitchen (as shown), or alongside a main rug (in the Persian manner).

Remarks:
Authentic, used tribal /nomadic piece. The weaver hand sewed a small rug to a hand woven kilim to make a bag she could use as a utility bag to store household items to be carried when they migrated from winter to summer dwellings. The front has the Guls of her Turkmen tribe.

Remarks: Very finely Woven with botefs in pairs around the border Inserting vases of flowers. This was used by a tribe for a saddlebag front, Also called a khorjin. Tones of ochre And 3 distinct shades of blue And some saffron yellow incorporated in all the designs.A rarer piece found in such good condition and sought after by collectors.
