Materials: hand-spun wool on natural wool. Age. ca. 1910-1920
Condition: Very good with overall muted colors from naturally derived dyes. Almost entirely intact with original 2 cord selvage /sides, and the kilim on both ends in good condition.
Remarks: This is tribal prayer rug with a prayer arch at the top. The Baluch are a nomadic and semi-nomadic tribe whose flatweave and pile and soumak items were woven primarily as utilitarian tribal pieces. The colors of aubergine, grass green, goldenrod yellow, blue, different shades of brown are all the Native natural colors from their habitat and region.

1930 NW Persian Kurd Medallion with Bakshaish border, D0371; dim. 56"x72"
This is an elegant rug in excellent condition with thick pile displaying brilliant natural dyes of persimmon and robbin's egg blue. The rug features a large medallion with an open field of abrashed persimmon red, balanced with quarter-size medallions in each corner spandrel. Symbolic dragons appear from each spandrel reaching toward the center medallion.

Material: Hand dyed, hand spun wool on a cotton warp base.
Condition: Very Good, secured sides and ends, pliable, good pile overall, professionally hand washed.
Remarks: Made in the village of Lillihan which is known for its wool and artistic weave with a design similar to the Sarouks, but with a single weft weave. Note the open design of the floral sprays typical of the first decade of the 20th century.

Remarks: This hand knotted, pile rug comes from a region where the weavers use some of the finest wool and colors of Berries of Raspberries, Blueberies, orange, bright blue , turquoise, burnt orange, and ivory. These are sturdy, long wearing rugs using hand dyed wool and a prominent medallion.
These are village rugs where the weaver uses her own design to execute the finished product.

The field is encircled by a border of chickens or Stylized dragons to protect the heart of the rug.
